​The Midnight World Under Water

2018 (1 month for designing and making)

 

The Midnight World Under Water was my final major project of foundation course. I started with a big painting of underwater and created a character based on the original story about underwater at midnight.​ I had an exhibition of this project at very end, so the costume was designed to create underwater world within the exhibition space. Each layers of dress had made by different techniques and I used actual swim suit for the body part. I also went to sea with model at midnight to see how it looks like with water. Those photos are from that shooting.

衣装プロジェクト

真夜中の海の下の世界は作者のファウンデーションコースの卒業制作です。この作品の制作は一つの大きなペイントから始まり、キャラクターの制作、深海に関するオリジナルストーリーを制作したのちに衣装が制作しました。最終的に展示会が用意されていたため、展示室内で深海を表現するためにこのドレスはデザインされています。ドレスの各層が各々違う技術で制作されており、上部の体パーツに使用されている水着はこだわりの一つです。実際にモデルを率いて夜中の海に行き、水と衣装が一緒になったらどの様になるのかを確認する為の撮影も行いました。
