Free is a film of digital performance. This interactive performance was looking for a response from a dance Suzuki. I literally asked her to dance anyway she felt, so I could response to that through digital pieces. This is very opposite process from what we do normally as a performance artist. I only told her three words; free, paint, being and colourful. And her movements were responding to those words. The story came up slowly from that video while I was editing and this is outcome of that.

「自由に。」は、Digital Performanceをメインに制作した作品です。 作者が制作したInteractive digital artと共にダンサーの鈴木さんに踊っていただき、その映像をベースにイメージやコンセプトを制作していくという、いつもとは反対のプロセスを使って映像を作りました。これは作者のここ数年の研究テーマである「作者が制作した作品に観客が直接リスポンスしてできる作品」と重なるところがあり、鈴木さんには「自由」「描く」「徐々に色がついていく」というキーワードのみを伝え、あとは自由に彼女に動いていただきました。すると自然と物語が見えていき、作者とダンサーとの間に新しいものが生まれこの様な映像として形に残りました。動画の「出合い、」から始まる様に川と川が合流していく様を想像しながら、自由とは何なのか、水の中で自由を失っていく布に色付けていく作者自身の心情とその「作品」、それとは裏腹にどんどん自由になって描いていく鈴木さんとの関係性を楽しんでいただけると幸いです。
